What's New?
| January 26, 2008 | I'm in the process of moving railbuttons.com to a new store front. We'll see how it goes. Oh, and the 25¢ buttons are back!! | |
| April 19, 2007 | Just a note to say "still here!". I'm still trying to get the nylon buttons back in stock, but no, I have no idea when that might be, if ever. Some of you may also have noticed a huge increase in my turnaround times, and I apologize profusely for that. I used to be able to hit the post office a couple of times a day, but after I moved I'm down to once or twice per week. I'm hoping I'll be able to work something out soon because that's just not acceptable. Oh, and somewhere along the line I passed the 60,000th button shipped; don't know when exactly. At this point I'll wait for 100,000 before I update the tally. Should I give out a prize? | |
| September 18, 2005 | Today I shipped my 50,000th button! | |
| August 31, 2004 | Today I shipped my 40,000th button! | |
| November 8, 2003 | I've had many requests to offer pad adapters for the 80/20 1010 rail, even after publishing the "DIY Rail" article showing how you can make your own for next to nothing. And now, because you asked and to further the mission of "lost cost rail solutions", I've added stainless steel pad adapters to the railbuttons.com catalog. It's been a long time coming, but I wanted to wait until I could offer a quality product at what I hope is a reasonable cost. | |
| November 4, 2003 | Today I shipped my 30,000th button! | |
| September 1, 2003 | This month begins what will hopefully be a long-running series of monthly giveaways. But rather than give away buttons I'd rather see if I can't make the rail population grow a bit. To that end, it's my goal to give away a pair of Series 1000 compatible rails each month. Check the "Monthly Giveaway" link for more details. | |
| August 27, 2003 | Wow... its been a long time since I've updated this page. I guess things have just been sort of running on autopilot...
I've added the first non-button rail accessory to my offering... T-Nuts for the 1010 rails. They should also work on Series 1000-compatible BlackSky and GiantLeap rails. The t-nuts can be used in place of the modified hex nuts for pad adapters (see the "DIY Rail" article) or can be used to attach just about anything to the rail using 1/4"-20 screws. My hope is that easy and inexpensive access to basic rail hardware will reduce any excuses one might have in embracing the technology. |

| October 30, 2002 | Today I shipped my 20,000th button! | |
| September, 2002 | It's a long-overdue event, but I have finally added orange and purple to the Series 1000 nylon button roster. Now all of the primary and secondary colors are available as well as black and white. That's 512 different mix-n-match combinations. Throw in the black-oxide screw upgrade and you've got 1,024 combinations! | |
| July 1, 2002 | I wrote and implemented a new "shopping cart" today. Please let me know if you find any problems. Internally it will be easier to maintain and I have been able to add options for Canadian and (worst-case) "International" shipping. Bulk discount prices have also been incorporated. | |
| April 26, 2002 | I made a minor addition to the "Surface Mount" article in the "Articles" section. Someone had asked about the durability of the technique and I added an example of my personal experience. | |
| April 1, 2002 | I added a link to Dick Stafford's review of my buttons on EMRR in the "Articles" section. | |
| February 21, 2002 | Today is the one year anniversary of my first button sold.
I've added a link to an article by Sean Rose in the "Articles" section. He came up with an alternate simple and inexpensive DIY rail technique. |
|
| February 20, 2002 | Today I shipped my 10,000th button! | |
| February 12, 2002 | I decided to make a few changes to the site layout. Among other things
I've created this "What's New?" page to make it easier to quickly find new articles or to get the latest scoop
on product news. Check here first whenever you visit as this will be the most updated
page on the site.
There are also a couple of new or updated entries in the "Articles" section, including how to prevent heat damage and alternate mounting techniques. The basic installation article has also been updated. |
